Product Features
Q: What is Ergonomic about the receptacles?

A: The large receptacle EC2626 has one side door
that folds down. So the garbage bag inside is pulled out horizontally
instead of vertically. Thus it may reduce back & neck/shoulder
stress injury known as Musculoskeletal Disorders.

Q: How do the trash bags lock into
place so they never "fall-in" or need to be tied off on
the trash bin?

A: The unique design of the sides of the receptacles
provides an area for the bags to be inserted onto fitting snuggly
on the side tops. Then any ErgoCan lid has ribs that lock onto the
side tops. Thus the lid locks the bag onto the side tops. IT’S HIGHLY
RECOMMENDED YOU ONLY USE THE EXACT SIZE BAGS FOR THIS FEATURE TO WORK.
EC1119 use 26" width bag. EC2626 use 47" width bag. Both
are available for purchase on the Product Page.

Q: How durable are the display panels
and what type of printing technology do you use?

  A:

Our standard printing we use large format digital
UV printing technology; this allows us to print directly on the
substrate (material).

As a special request we can use large format digital Solvent printing
technology to produce high definition and richer tone graphics.
It is printed on 3 year gloss vinyl and mounted to a substrate.
Contact us at customerservice@ErgoCan.com
for further information.

Our standard display panel material is art board. It designed for
indoor use with a limited life of 1 year. However it may last longer
based on use and environmental conditions.

For long term or heavy traffic indoor use, we recommend that our
standard art board be laminated with clear film for durability,
UV protection and cleaning purposes. We offer it in High Gloss or
Semi-Gloss.

For outdoor use we recommend PVC board for durability and laminated
with a clear film for UV protection.

Q: Will the printed product look exactly
like the design proof displayed on my monitor?

A: Due to different monitor calibrations, some printed
colors may not always match the colors displayed on your computer
monitor. Also we print in CMYK, but your monitor displays in RGB.
Finally you may not notice backgrounds in images if they have not
been converted to transparent backgrounds. (See: What kind of image
should I use for a logo, clip art or line art?)

Q: What type of files can be uploaded
and the size?

  A:

The maximum file size 20mg.

We strongly recommend PDF file format (See: How to create PDF?)
We have PDF Design Templates to assist you must you creating a PDF
format graphic. Go to the Products Page and then select the Display
Panels you would like to create. That will then take you to the
Upload Page where you may find the PDF Display Tem-plates to download.

Q: What size are the Display Panels?

  A:

EC1119 (small receptacle): Small display panel
9.3"w X 26.375" (26-3/8") Large display panel 17.8125"
(17-13/16") w X 26.375" (26-3/8") h.

EC2626 (large receptacle): All panel sizes 22.25" (22-1/4")
w. X 30" h.

  • IMAGE AREA: The side channels’ covers the display panels by
1/4" (.25). The top (lid) and bottom channel covers the display
panel by 1/2" (.5). When creating your graphic, deduct the
channel measurements from the display panel specifications above.
This is your image area. We would recommend that no text element
or complete visual design element exceed 1/2" (.5) – 3/4"
(.75) from the display panel edges. Note: When uploading your
graphic it will display in a proofing window. The solid edge around
    the window reflects that channels.

Q: How do I create a PDF?

  A:

Go to the Product Page and select the Display
Panels you would like to create. That will then take you to the
Upload Page where you may find the PDF Display Templates to download.
These Templates are made for Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, QuarkXpress,
Freehand, CorelDRAW, and Microsoft Publisher. These Templates will
assist you in your design layout and file settings in creating a
PDF. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU USE THEM.

Create your file in CMYK color mode. Any spot colors must be converted
to CMYK process. Documents created in RGB mode will require color
conversion and may result in unpredictable results.

Resolution: Set DPI to minimum 100 and maximum 300.

Text elements must be converted to outlines (paths, curves) prior
to saving as a PDF.

Color Settings: CMYK set to: US Web Coated (SWOP) v 2 RGB set to:
Adobe RGB (1988). These settings are what we use as profiles (box
of Crayons) for our printers. Note: If neither of these color settings
is available, use generic CMYK and RGB settings or your software
default settings.

Photographic images (or elements that are resolution dependent)
must have a minimum resolution of 100 dpi and no greater than 300
dpi – at final print size – 100%. WARNING: Scaling a lower
resolution image to a larger size (upsampling) is discouraged, as
it will cause noticeable image degradation in the final printed
display panel.

PDF Preset: Set to: PDF/X-1a: 2001

Note: We recommend if you have Adobe Distiller to use it create
your PDF file.

Note: Please keep in mind that we only print EXACTLY what is sent
to us. We do not have the time or resources to alter or color correct
your files. Image resolution, quality and good color all will affect
how your final printed looks.

production staff, customer service, management or affiliates require
a proof, then a sample proof will be mailed to the order address
to the attention of the contact. This sample proof will require
on its surface a signature of the contact purchaser and dated. The

Q: What kind of image should I use
for a photograph?

  A:

If you’re using a photograph or using a photograph
in your design element, then you should use a good resolution JPG
image. Try to find the highest quality image with a file size less
than 6 Megabytes (6 MB).

Photographic images must have a minimum resolution of 100 dpi and
no greater than 300 dpi – at final print size – 100%. WARNING:
Scaling a lower resolution image to a larger size (upsampling) is
discouraged, as it will cause noticeable image degradation in the
final printed display panel.

Note: Please keep in mind that we only print EXACTLY what is sent
to us. We do not have the time or resources to alter or color correct
your files. Image resolution, quality and good color all will affect
how your final printed looks.

Q: What kind of image should I use
for a logo, clip art or line art?

  A:

To use a logo, or some type image created by
a graphics professional from solid lines and colors (specifically
called ‘vector art’), then EPS is the best choice. By using an EPS
file in your design, you can retain the sharp lines in your original
image, even if the file size you use is very small. If you do not
have access to an EPS file, then GIF or PNG file formats will provide
you with the next best print quality. Whatever file format you use,
your overall design must then be converted to a PDF file (see: How
do I create a PDF?) Again, try to find the highest quality image
with a file size less than 6 Megabytes (6 Mb). Finally any logo,
clip art or line art you use should be separated out individually
on a transparent background. If this is not done then whatever background
that image was created on (most logos are created on white backgrounds)
our printers will try to create that color (white color) thus degrading
your overall art image. For example, if your logo is created on
white box background, then when we print, that white box will show
up as an outline around your logo, WARNING: Never copy a logo or
any image from a website, it will be only 72 dpi or less and will
not be on a transparent background. Your quality expectations should
be low if you choose to do this.

Note: Please keep in mind that we only print EXACTLY what is sent
to us. We do not have the time or resources to alter or color correct
your files. Image resolution, quality and good color all will affect
how your final printed looks.

Q: Where can I get a high quality
image for my Display Panels?

  A:

to see if one has already been created. Or, you can purchase your
original (custom) logo and display panel (sign) designs for a very
competitive price through our Design Service program. These designs

Q: How can I tell if my image is good?

  A:

One way to see the quality of your image is
to open it in a image viewer. Zoom in on the image, or enlarge it
a great deal, and see if the image is very grainy (pixilated). This
is a good indication of a poor quality image. For the best quality
guidelines see: How to create a PDF? What kind of image should I
use for a logo, clip art or line art? What kind of image should
I use for a photograph?

Q: Does ErgoCan.com offer Imaging

Q: What is optimum viewable distance
of my graphic designs on the Display Panels?

  A:

These calculations are based on the resolution
(dots per inch, or DPI) of the image you provide. Uploading a higher
resolution image means a larger image will look better at a further
distance. We assume 100 DPI is best viewed from 3.5 – 5 feet
We recommend that your Display Panel be created at 100 – 300
DPI. For the best quality guidelines, see: How to create a PDF?
What kind of image should I use for a logo, clip art or line art?
What kind of image should I use for a photograph?

Note: Due the limitations of its printing equipment, we cannot
achieve DPI value greater than 300 DPI.

Q: What is DPI?

  A:

Dots Per Inch (DPI). This is relative term
for resolution in creating your graphic file and for printing output.
The denser the dots are per inch, the greater the quality of the
image.
